Hi, I am Lianne Hobbs.

I have always had a creative bend to my personality…largely due to my mother who taught me how to make something from nothing and be resourceful in ways beyond the norm. I’m sure most of this was born out of necessity more than anything else, having grown up with 6 brothers and one sister in a rural part of Alaska with very few of the amenities of life, that I now consider essential! 

I married and raised three lovely children, truly the greatest loves of my life. I am currently married to a wonderful man and between us we have 6 children and 23 grandchildren. I am rich in love and in family.

I live in a lovely house on a hill, facing a majestic Alaskan mountain and it seemed most perfect to name our business Hobbs Hill Designs, a business I have dreamed of for many years. I have a long background in sewing and all things fabric, from making my young children clothing and accessories to many years of quilting and teaching classes. Branching out into a business that showcases the fabric that I love and the creativity that my mama passed on to me in making lovely things that have a boutique quality as well as a functionality, makes my heart happy.  

So at age 61, in the fall/winter of my life…I am living the dream. Surrounded by the love of family and friends, in a colorful world of fabric and textures, creating useful and lovely items for others!
